The first Bulletin Board System (BBS) to come online on the Internet was CBBS (Computerized Bulletin Board System), a computer program created by Ward Christensen and Randy Suess that allowed them and other computer hobbyists to exchange information between each other. It went online on February 16, 1978, exactly 42 years ago!
