17 years ago on this day, the Columbia Space Shuttle disintegrated as it re-entered into the earth's atmosphere after finishing its 15 days long space journey which was Columbia's 28th mission. All crew members were killed in the disaster including the iconic Indian astronaut Kalpana Chawla.
On this day, we pay our tribute to all of them. Space travel is one of the most challenging and thrilling endeavors of our times and humanity will tirelessly continue its efforts in this direction.
